THE PEOPLE AT SUNPENNY

Jo Holloway has been writing since she first discovered pencils and books, and wanted in on the magic of it all! Winning prizes throughout her school years for both poetry and prose as well as artwork, she wrote her first novel at age 24 and was then swept off into a career of script writing and production work for television, radio, film and multimedia, as well as (later) the web. She has been writing professionally for more than 25 years, has sat on official writing committees and government bodies, worked internationally as a script developer and editor, and (in Africa) trained developing writers, as well as editing and writing for corporate and other newsletters and magazines. But on the backburner for most of her life (since age 3, actually!) has flickered the desire to "make books", and the time has finally come to realize the dream. This also fulfills her continued desire to help new writers develop their talents, and get their feet onto the first rungs of the ladder of publication. Sunpenny Publishing and its imprints, Rose & Crown Books, Boathooks Books, and Sunberry Books, are Jo's brainchild and passion!
 

Luana du Toit has studied Creative Writing (amongst other topics, including Geosciences and Interior Decorating!), and has worked over the years with authors on cover design and book layout, as well as in television production, web design, and graphics. She is now helping Sunpenny with various editorial and design tasks, on a freelance basis. Keeping it in the family: Luana is Jo's beautiful and amazing daughter!

Stephanie Higgins is freelancing for us as an editorial assistant in charge of our Social Networking, as well as helping us with initial reading of manuscripts. Stephanie's bio and photo will follow soon.
